Tropical Velvet Worms Personal ad19 Sept 2019 - Other Ads - Vancouver, BC
Have you wanted to add something incredibly unique and bizarre to your menagerie? Any chance you've heard of Velvet Worms?
These Onychophora are panarthropods that live in social groups and take care of their young! Their hunting technique is quite amazing as they shoot a stream of goo onto their prey and it glues them to the ground before they wander over to suck out its juices. Brutal, but so interesting.
I currently have a few captive bred, third generation Epiperipatus barbadensis juveniles available for purchase and the window for shipping them is quickly coming to a close! These guys ship quite well and have been sent to Germany and the US with no losses, but when temperatures drop too low I will not send them out. Overnight shipping is strongly advised though to reduce stress. Pick up in Vancouver is also available.
For care they can tolerate a temperature range of 18°C to 32°C for extended periods and can be housed in a rather simple container or even a well planted terrarium. They just need an environment that remains quite moist, feedings once a week, and the removal of mold if it should ever build up.
I will supply an extensive care sheet for you so you start off on the right foot.
They are 3 for $300 or 6 for $500.
